Established in 2009 by Emily Collie, Melbourne Girl is your daily dose of fashion, style & inspiration.
In April 2011, we launched our website – melbgirl.com.au – since then our readership and social networking continues to grow.
We now have many (fabulous) contributing fashion writers and photographers who also work as part of the melbgirl team.
We’d love to introduce you to them below:
HI, MY NAME IS EMILY AND I’M A FASHIONHOLIC!
Currently, I am supporting my fashion addiction as Editor of fashion & style website Melbourne Girl. I am currently on Maternity Leave (until Winter 2013).
I am also a freelance fashion writer, contributing to both online and print publications including Fjorde Magazine, Melbourne City Newspaper and many other retail websites.
Jessie joined the melbgirl team as official photographer in January 2012. She is a Melbourne girl with a passion for fashion photography!! Jessie is also a qualified Social Worker, with a background in performing arts (especially dance) who has fallen in love with fashion photography and her Canon 5D!
Erica has her ear to the ground and eye on the prize when it comes to finding amazing buys and emerging trends around Melbourne.
Prue is a Melbourne girl through and through who loves sampling all the amazing things Melbourne has to offer, be it fashion, food, bars, parks, beaches or parking at Chadstone on a Saturday afternoon.
She currently works in Public Relations and Advertising, and spends all her money on clothes and toys for her French Bulldog, Coco Chanel.
Laura looooves thrift shopping. She lives in Melbourne and loves to attend as many fashion events as possible. She has a degree in Journalism and writes two blogs, alittleboutiquenearhome.com and voguishnotions.com.
Yaz Cagrier is a law and journalism graduate, freelance writer and fashion lover. She is also a personal style blogger and has previously interned for the Australian Fashion Guide.
James is a fashion and style writer from Melbourne. By day a well spoken retail professional, by night a fierce and passionate blogger and writer for onlines and print. Fashion is what makes his world go ’round, retail his bread and butter and good clothes his zest of life. With a great interest in emerging and independent talent Australia-wide, James loves scratching the surface of what the fashion industry has to offer, all the while acknowledging those who’ve made the world what it is today.
Kellie is based in Sydney, bringing some Sydney-sider flair to compliment the Melbournian sophistication of Melbourne Girl.
She currently works in public relations and has a strong passion for immersing myself in the world of fashion and keeping abreast of all that’s happening in the fashion world.
Kate is the owner of Wardrobe Witch and Web Witch, two complementary businesses which combine personal styling and social media strategies specialising in the fashion and beauty industries. Her clients are based from Sydney to Sweden to New York.
Kate is also a freelance fashion writer, contributing to online publications including HerCanberra and mamamia. She also writes about her ridiculous obsession with shoes in her own blog, the41steps.com.
SYDNEY CONTRIBUTING WRITER
Bec’s two ultimate loves are fashion journalism and styling. Having completed internships with many Australian online and print publications, worked in-studio with prominent Australian fashion designers and contributed to many fashion blogs, she has also completed a 3-month editorial internship at V and VMAN Magazine in New York. She is soon to gradute from her Bachelor of Design in Fashion and Textile Design, which she completed at the University of Technology, Sydney, with first class honours. She currently freelances as a fashion stylist and writer and will be relocating to New York later this year to live her fashion dream.
Coralie is currently studying Journalism and Creative writing in Adelaide, with high aspirations to become a feature-writer for fashion magazines.
Coralie works in retail and loves being immersed in fashion. Her blog Something Coral keeps up-to-date with all things fashion, editorials, cool styles and trends, as well as creative writing pieces.
Lauren is based in Melbourne and recently completed her Journalism degree. She spends more time living and breathing fashion than can possibly be healthy, and she believes that a fresh mani can brighten your day in more ways than one.
Lauren is a freelance writer, blogger, and glossy magazine hoarder. She would love nothing more than to meet Karl Lagerfeld backstage at a Chanel show in Paris… one day!
Bianca is currently studying a double degree in Journalism and Creative Writing & Communication at University of South Australia. She is a freelance writer, and the author of fashion blog LOVER OF THE KING.
Bianca adores everything about fashion, especially the ultra talented Mr Alexander Wang. Her dream in life would be to one day be the editor of Vogue magazine, living in New York of course!
Shannon is a self-confessed girly girl and freelance writer in Melbourne with a love of fashion and an aspiring collection of heels, controlled only by her living space and bank balance.
She runs her own website which follows her journey to get her debut novel published and onto the NY Times best-sellers list, and of course shares many lust-worthy heels.
Hayley is a fresh journalism and public relations graduate and has interned at many fashion publications such as Marie Claire and Girlfriend.
She was Chadstone, The Fashion Capital’s Spring 2012 blogger and aspires to live and work in Paris one day.
Olivia is finishing her last year of journalism school in New York. She recently spent a few months in Melbourne and fell in love with everything-Melbourne, but especially the fashion.
She is currently an Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper, The Pioneer, and aspires to work for a fashion magazine after graduation. She’s a lover of all things fabulous and affordable, which she wants to share with you!
Alessia lives the reality of La Dolce Vita, being born in the Tuscan countryside. After visiting Australia for two years, she has now returned to Italy, running social media for a few large clients and cool hunting along the way.
She knows what’s cool, and keeps an eye on sustainability and eco-friendly fashion from all over the world.
