FASHION: Shopping for a cause at TOMS

Posted by: Laura    Tags:  FASHION, One For One, shoes, TOMS    Posted date:  October 30, 2012  |  Comment

Shoe shopping is always fun. But shoe shopping that helps give to an amazing cause is like the icing on the cake!

TOMS has launched in Australia, bringing with them the brilliant campaign called One For One. One For One is exactly what it sounds like: every time you buy a pair of shoes from TOMS, they give a brand new pair of shoes to a child in need. They also run a similar program with TOMS Eyewear, helping to give vision to people all over the world.

TOMS currently give to communities in over 40 countries worldwide. The movement is all about how an everyday choice can change a life.

Now, how does that sound for shopping for a cause?

And to top it all off, the shoes and eyewear come in an amazing variety of colour, styles and materials. It’s hard to know where to start! (Although the Ivory Linen Women’s Strappy Wedges are looking pretty good.)

The launch party was a great success. It was held at Speakeasy in South Yarra, with a sumptuous array of food and drinks on offer – including fresh seafood and some lethal blue cocktails served in jars.

TOMS had also set up an inspirational wall. Guests were invited to write what they would give to people in need, and some of the messages were incredibly uplifting.

So if you would like to join the One For One movement, have a look at the TOMS online store, or check out their Facebook and Twitter pages.
