Last Thursday marked the opening of Westfield Fountain Gate’s new fashion precinct and the final stage of the centre’s $340 million redevelopment.

Now completed, Westfield Fountain Gate is the second largest shopping centre in Australia, spanning 174,000m2 with 440 retailers – 175 of which are new to the centre since the redevelopment commenced in March, 2011.

The centre’s enhanced fashion offering includes leading Australian and international retailers such as Myer, Witchery, Cue and Nike to complement existing labels such as Sportsgirl, Wittner and Bardot. The new Myer store is the first full-line Myer to open in Victoria in 35 years, housing collections from Australian designers including NF by Nicola Finetti, Leona by Leona Edmiston and Charlie Brown.

In addition to being a central hub for residents of Melbourne’s outer south eastern suburbs, the redevelopment has also generated approximately 800 new jobs for the City of Casey through a partnership formed between Westfield, the Australian Retail Association and the Federal Government.
