BLOGGER STYLE SERIES – Cecylia

Posted by: Emily Collie    Tags:  BLOGGER STYLE SERIES, Cecylia, fashion blog, melbgirl, MELBOURNE    Posted date:  August 9, 2012  |  5 Comments

The Melbourne Girl BLOGGER STYLE SERIES kicked off last week and I’m excited to introduce you all to our 3rd featured Melbourne Blogger, Cecylia from cecylia.com

I caught up with Cecylia to chat about her style and all things blogging! Check out the interview and her gorgeous photo below:

Please tell us about yourself and when you started blogging >

Ever since I was a toddler, I loved fashion. I used to parade around the house in my mom’s clothes and she fuelled my passion by making me exquisite pieces. Growing up, I excelled in academics so everyone expected me to become a doctor of some sort, however my secret love affair with fashion never dimmed. So after working a few years as a veterinarian, I desperately wanted to be involved in fashion in some way, and after reading some fashion blogs, I decided to create my own 3 years ago. People always commented on the uniqueness of my name so naturally, Cecylia.com was born.

How would you describe your style >

One part elegant, one part quirky. I’m not dictated or bound by trends, and I love styling pieces in unexpected ways.

Who inspires your wardrobe and why >

Stylists, models (off-duty looks) and fashionistas from Street style blogs. These are ‘real-women’ who have interpreted trends and adopted them in their own repertoire, I find these ladies very refreshing and inspiring. Hence I gain confidence to put my own spin on things as well.

Three must-have items for Spring/Summer >

The 3.1 Philip Lim Breakup bag, Miu Miu patent embellished pumps and a buttoned maxi dress to be worn unbuttoned from the knee  :)

Who are your favorite Aussie and International designers >

I adore Karla Spetic, recently I discovered some hot young talent like Kathryn Beker, Livia Arena and Sonya Kraan, and internationally my heart flutters for Jil Sander and Sophia Kokosalaki.

A big thanks to Cecylia for her time chatting to melbgirl x
