MELBOURNE: Lady Petrova revamps her look for spring

Posted by: Laura    Tags:  FASHION, Lady Petrova, MELBOURNE    Posted date:  August 1, 2012  |  No comment

Lady Petrova has re-opened it’s doors on Flinders Lane and people can once again enjoy the vibrant and whimsical fashion on display.

The official launch was an absolute joy to attend. ‘Lady’ Petrova herself (Petrova Hammond) was an incredibly vibrant and enthusiastic person to meet – her talent and personality were reflected everywhere in the store.

The collections currently available are the ultimate in feminine style. There is a lot of delicate detailing that is often lacking in more mainstream fashion – but adds some girlish fun to dressing that’s reminiscent of those long-ago childhood days.

The launch had a delicious range of cupcakes available (supplied by Cupcake Central), and some even yummier champagne from Omni. There was also a variety of fortune ‘cookies’ being passed around – such a fun concept!

I enjoyed talking to Petrova about the work involved in revamping the store. She added so many tiny details to the refurbishments that give the store an overall unique character. If you stop by and happen to glance up, the large colourful plaits that hang with the light fittings are actually My Little Pony tail hair!

Petrova actually plaited each individual display herself. Another stunning detail was the ‘dollhouse’ counter – a very unique concept that I adored. It looked so lovely.

But looking past the tiny detailing, there was also some exquisite statement jewellery on display. The chunky, raw crystal rings could add some serious zest to anyone’s wardrobe. And the shoes! Loved the individual styles available, some of which were quite whimsical.

Visiting Lady Petrova is a little bit like stepping back into childhood. But it’s a very fun type of nostalgia to visit, with a very feminine type of style to play with.
