I had the pleasure of attending the Tom Gunn store launch in Howey Place and the experience was little short of love at first site.

The store is tucked away in one of Melbourne’s signature laneways, the scripted Tom Gunn neon sign is a beacon to shoppers searching for shoe salvation.

Inside are some of the most beautifully crafted shoes this well-heeled gal has ever seen, with special mention to the “Lazarus” style in Ponyskin and “Jacques” in electric blue. The shoes are edgy without being intimidating, combining luxury materials with spectacular design flair.

Since launching in 2008 by Gabrielle Thompson and Shannon Gunn (geddit?) in the James Street shopping precinct in Brisbane, the brand has cultivated stockists across Australia and abroad, along with online shopping mecca, theiconic.com.au
