Emirates Announces St Petersburg as the Theme for its Marquee at the 2011 Melbourne Cup Carnival

To coincide with the launch of daily flights from Dubai to St Petersburg on November 1st 2011 – Emirates Melbourne Cup Day, Emirates, the Principal Partner of the Melbourne Cup Carnival and title sponsor of the Emirates Melbourne Cup is pleased to announce the Russian city as the theme for its marquee at the 151st Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Drawing inspiration from St Petersburg landmark, the majestic Catherine Palace – the Emirates marquee will too be famed for its lavish and decorated design. Featuring a new layout with a regal feel and grand suite of formal rooms including the “Tsar Bar‟, a separate lounge and restaurant serving the finest caviar and the “Grand Cascade Terrace‟ offering premium trackside views.

 

 

 

A host of international identities of Russian descent are on the invitation list for the 2011 Emirates marquee including supermodel Natalia Vodianova, Miss Russia 2010 Irina Antonenko, Miss Universe (Russia) Oxana Fedorova, tennis player Anna Kournikova, actress Mila Kunis and actor Leonardo DiCaprio who will be filming in Australia later this year.

What an amazing way to celebrate the launch of the Emirates newest destination, St Petersburg – with a grand celebration on Cup day!
